11:00 - 3:00pm - Front Clasp Necklace
Mokume Gane (pronounced moe-koo-may-GAHN-ay) is the Japanese term for "woodgrained metal". In this class we will modify the metal component to use polymer clay in its place. By layering and manipulating the polymer clay amyriad of interesting and beautiful designs can be achieved. The Mokume Gane will be used as a background for a stamped design pendant highlighted with paints.

Materials included. Required supplies: baby wipes, exacto knife, pasta machine if you have one.

This is metalsmithing for the timid. No soldering necessary. Cut, shape, hammer, texture and stamp sheet metal. Use rivets to attach the metal pieces. Design a pendant and a pair of earrings, time permitting.

Pre-requisite: wire wrapping basics or similar class.
Required supplies: pliers, chain and round nose, semi-flush wire cutters, sharpie marker, and a universal eyelet setter.

12:00 - 330pm - Reversible Hollow Domed Beads
Learn the basics of working with metal clay, including how to form it into a domed shape. Make two domed circles, attach them into a single, reversible, hollow "lentil-shape" bead! You'll have the choice of designing a piece you'll be proud to wear on its own, or one that you can later string as a focal point in your own beaded creation.
